Windows Media Player Library--how to delete?

I deleted a bunch of old videos I didn't want with Explorer (just
erased the files) but when I open Media Player, it still has
references to those files and I can't get them to go away!

And by the way: anybody else notice that files in Windows 7 libraries
tend to disappear?
