I am running Vista and for some reason, I have several folder in Windows
Explorer that has an arrow like a shortcut icon and i can't get access to
the folder.
It isn't every folder, but it is my Documents and Settings folder and
others.
I do not recall changing anything, and I just noticed this, so I am not real
sure how long this has had me blocked.
thanks for the help in advance

Some folder icons are not real folders, they are junction points for backwards
compatibility with software written for XP etc.
Folder icons like ' My Documents', 'Application Data', 'NetHood' etc will generate
a 'Location is not available' box and an Access Denied message.
There is nothing to see in them as they are not folders.
(You'll only see these icons if you have selected to show system files in folder options.)

I just don't remember seeing these folders before. So where would the actual
Documents and Setting folder be? Do i access it through the control panel?
thanks

There is no Documents and Settings folder.
It's just a shortcut to c:\users\your folder.
